A New Dog House! A New Kitchen Dog Theater Home!

We did it!

Or, at least, we've taken the first big BIG step toward a new, permanent, we-own-it! home for Kitchen Dog Theater.

Woohoo!

The Dallas Morning News has a big article about it HERE.  (Give it a few clicks, eh?)

Basic facts?  A wonderful and anonymous couple gave us a challenge grant for $ 500,000 last fall if we could raise $125,000 (in a very short time)... which we did!  This generous gift became the cornerstone of our house hunt and allowed us to JUST CLOSE THE DEAL on a great building in the northernmost edge of Dallas' Design District.

About perfect.

It'll be a while - 2018 - before we move in, but that's much needed time to plan, design, remodel, and raise yet more money.  Our goal is to own our new theatrical home free and clear.  It's going to be so... so... homey to have a place of our very own.

So, if you've got a spare nickle, please toss it our way: Kitchen Dogs would be very grateful!  And, to those Anonymous Heroes, huge, grateful thanks!  If I never learn their names I may just have to hug every ticket-buyer I meet.

Woohoo! NEA Grant to Kitchen Dog!

You know that theater company I was bragging on?  Kitchen Dog?  (Well, okay, bragging' and beggin', as in to raise cash to meet a match challenge fund raisin' for a new home.)

Anyway.

I bragged what good work we do in supporting living playwrights and new works.

Well the NEA agrees with me - giving us our fourth grant in a row! toward our New Works Festival.  One of only 29 grants to Texas arts groups.  I tell ya, we do good work!

Please grant us your help in building a new home to house these new works in.  (More info HERE)

Thank You!

Don't you like to know how things turn out?  (I hate news stories, for instance, that get you interested... but then you never, ever learn how the court case or whatever ends up.)

So about that Giving Day appeal recently...?

Success!  Wonderful success!

Thanks to those Supporters of Good Works who gave so generously, North Texas Giving Day (earlier POST) broke all previous records!

Thanks to you, loyal Supporters of Kitchen Dog Theater, we collected enough money to fully support our young playwright program Pupfest and our New Works Festival readings... and that's before the matching money even kicks in!  This will Really Help.

Please, you Readers who gave so generously, pat yourself on the back.  Thank you.  Thank you.
