Secret Projects... Well, Not Yet Ready to Reveal Ones Anyway

I've needed to cut back on theater work for the next few months, but I'll be staying busy with other projects.  The biggest of these is writing a sequel to a novel that a friend and I co-wrote last year!

A fantasy novel set in the world of Aenoriia.

That's the world I've been showing you in Minecraft form since... well, since I discovered it during covid.  Then (also in a break from theater work) I joined an international group of Minecrafters building a fantasy city... now a continent.  And now a novel.  Or two...

Not quite ready to pull the tarp off of that first novel yet (still tinkering under its hood), but pretty soon now, once I've formatted the ebook, and built the website, and solved a fussy little technical glitch... (You know those stripey scanner codes on the backs of books? Eeeevil little things!)

But.

Today I'm working on the map for Book 2, so, as a teaser, here is the map from Book 1,

Too Cool for This World

While coviding here at home for the last couple weeks (yeesh) I've been playing a lot of Minecraft.  This vid doesn't show much of my work, but it does show the fun of the world our team has been working on, most lately on a city named Ptolith.  And this particular build in the vid is the city's crown, the Time Temple.  (The Biiiig circle at bottom left on this map.)

Huge fun... and something like Folk-Terraforming?  Outsider-City-Planning?  Amateur (mostly) Architecture?  I think we're edging into Art territory now...

In Other, Non-Theatrical, News

I've been spending a lot of time over the last few years - since covid began - working with an international group of Minecraft builders, building what started out as a single Elven city and is now more of an... entire continent.  

This is the most recent work, the start of a new city, Saelengard (with it's adjacent port).  The community is built on the edges of a vast natural salt formation, a snowflake-like geological sort of tide-flat whose delicate landscape we're trying to respect and celebrate.

Anyway, an interesting design challenge!
